I got a call this week from the nice people who came out to film and interview the various friends and family for the show Disappeared last month. During the call I was told that they were in the editing process. Hopefully it will air soon and create some leads for the investigators.
There have been no more sightings or leads since a few months back.
Summer’s mom had a major operation due to stress. My mom is still putting the flyer out in all the newspapers in Baja just in case. I guess we’re all holding up ok, but the not knowing is by far the hardest part. Your mind wanders from time to time playing back all the variables and scenarios.
Wish I had more.

I can’t imagine how stressful this has been for both families. I have checked in at least every other day since the beginning. I still have hope. I am sorry to hear about summer’s mother. My sister is good friends with Blanche. Sending you all comfort and pray for peace some day soon!
Sincerely,
Julie Padilla

We do continue to pray and are confident others are as well…for everybody involved. Such a mystery. We’re very sad and sorry for you. Please remember that there are a lot of strangers who care and are praying. Be well, and remain hopeful even as life must move along. Rest assured, Heaven is not blind to your suffering.

hi i just watched the disapeared show of your family and i cant stop thinking about it. the toys have me confused.if the family left at 7:30 and the car was found 60 miles away that means it would have 8:30 when they got to the parking lot. which mean
they would have had 30 minutes to shop for all of those toy and why would they put a sheet over top of them have they fingured printed the toys to see if the little boys had touched them.
another ideal. is that the father bought the toys on the way home from his business meeting to tell the boys that they would get the toys when they get to the place they were going.so they wouldnt be so upset about leaving
Justine, I think they said on the show that the McStay vehicle did not show up at the parking lot where it was towed from until 4 full days after leaving their house. There are no credit card transactions to indicate where they have been or how they are surviving.
I just saw the episode on ID. I am so sorry to hear about this mystery. It is awful! I hope that they find them soon! My thoughts and prayers are with the family!
“Major operation due to stress.” A rather odd situation. I’ve never heard of a surgery to relieve or because of stress. Are you talking about something like an ulcer excision? Bypass?
The show mentioned the sighting of the family at a restaurant somewhere in Mexico. Apparently the server recognized the family and I recall mention that they were certain of the identity because of the birthmark on the youngest child. However, fingerprints left behind on the map did not belong to the parents. Have they considered that perhaps the 2 children were there with someone other than the parents? I hate to think of the implications but wanted to mention it just in case it hadn’t been explored.
Great point Leslie; they should have staked out the restaurant to see if they returned; maybe they are regulars? Very scary case;
I ve been following this story from day one and it really tuggs at my heart strings. I have a family of my own and if anyone hurt them or made them dissapear I would be lost. I pray and pray they are safe and that they return! I cant imagine who would want to hurt that family.
What is the lead detective in the case saying , now, about the family’s disappearance?
Do they suspect foul play, kidnapping?
If the family (parents) decided to just go… they would need and use the van, need and use credit card. someone would see them, they would be seen crossing into Mexico,
I do not think this family got themselves into anything by their actions or misdeeds, but fear the family was victimized by thugs looking to rob them and sell whatever they could…
the the world was looking for the family and the thugs just threw stuff away and hid.
Has the police or FBI taken dogs all around where the van was found? Was a reward offered for info? My heart goes out to the family and friends, and I hope it isn’t very long until they have answers– good answers if possible, but answers in any case.
Saw the show about a week ago and was wondering about the original painter that was hired off of craigslist I believe, and didn’t come back to finish the job. Who was he?
Where is he from. Was he from Mexico? Did they need to meet him at the border to pay him for work he had done? Just thought that detail was overlooked on the show. Also the kids toys in the back of their vehicle could have been purchased from someone on craigslist (a stranger) even though they have Ross tags. Anyway just some things that were on my mind. I pray you all find your family along with so many others.
