In light of the new information from the SD Sheriff’s Dept, I am coordinating another Flyer Distribution down at the border crossing this Saturday April 3rd 10am. We will meet in the parking lot near the Sunrise Buffet and Bancomer Bank where the Isuzu Trooper was towed.

Thank You again for everyone’s interest and support into finding our beloved family. We are so grateful.

It could be.. they went for an afternoon trip to TJ, the dogs might have had water when they left..
I must … admit though.. you can buy clothes and gifts..for pennies on the dollar (and is why many go shopping there) I am uncertain..but is it required to show a child’s birth cert. to get back into the states? Since they allegedly looked it up on the net a week before, they did not need a passport to visit. But.. if they found they had to have the cert’s and did not take them..that might be an indicator that they are still in the U.S.
I hope there is a brave soul who has gone into TJ and has showed their picture around. I went to TJ this am..via google maps, and it is still a rough place. I visited there as a young adult..and I cannot type the sorts of things I saw ..
Your thoughts?
How come Summer has a completely different real name? Was she on the run from an abusive ex or something? I just noticed in multiple articles that she is also known by a name completely different than Summer McStay, just curious and thought it might be a lead if she was hiding from someone scary. I hope everything turns out ok and they are found safe.
Summer was her nickname since childhood.
The surface evidence seems to point to a day trip gone awry. However, there are some interesting discrepancies in the mass media. One report states that neither Mr or Mrs McStay are proficient in Spanish. Yet one article reports that Mrs McStay is Colombian. It is certainly possible that a Colombian national does not speak Spanish – but very unlikely. However, if she is, in fact, a Colombian-American it would not be surprising at all if she could not speak Spanish. I wonder which one it is?
The bit about the kid’s B-certs is also interesting. An inquiry re requirements for a day trip TJ crossing is appropriate – especially considering Mr McStay’s passport was expired. All you need is a valid ID. Most kids don’t have one so their ID is a B-cert. Why then leave it behind. It’s a mystery – but solvable for sure.
There are two possibilities. 1) a planned escape or 2) A day trip met by tragedy. True, TJ is a violent town, but attacks against American day-trippers are quite rare. TJ’s violence spawns from turf wars form cartels (and police) re drugs. If Mr McStay has absolutely no connection whatsoever with that trade then I feel the chances of foul play are low…Yet any connection – however tangential – would reveal the riddle.
They seem to be a happy, loving and free-spirited family – perhaps they just wanted to disconnect from the FOX-DISNEY-McDONALD’S-WALMART-IRS consumer prison matrix.
Perfectly understandable – but quite risky…

Summer was only part Columbian.. I believe she was also mixed with several other nationalities including Asian. They don’t know for sure they went across the border.
