Six months have passed and we are no closer today than we were six days from the start of our investigation. The Detectives and the FBI are chasing down leads as fast as they come in and really want to solve this case. I know that the detectives really want to get our story back out there to help prompt some leads for them to follow up.
The AMW show prompted around 13 leads in which Dugal and his team went through them in a few days. We’ve had leads from Michigan to El Paso, North Carolina, Susanville, and various spots in mainland Mexico and the Baja Peninsula. None of which panned out.
My mom has been running the missing persons flyer ( printable from our site) in a handful of newspapers in Mexico since June with only a couple of leads.
My friend who went to Mexico three times is now chasing down some of his own data from his Baja adventures.
North County Times, San Diego Union Tribune, CBS, ABC in San Diego have done a six month follow up trying to keep our family’s disappearance in the public’s eye.
The Steve Wilkos show does a short excerpt called “Back on the Beat” and has offered to put something together for us to try and help.
One of the staff writer’s for People Magazine has contacted us through the site and is pitching our story to the power’s that be. We may have some support from them which could help I’m sure.
A few weeks ago my mom let J—- take whatever he wanted from his dad’s house. This situation is tough enough to deal with as an adult, let alone have to deal with it as a 14 year old teenager about to start high school and wondering what happened to his dad. He took all Joey’s surfboards, ipod, music (he really wanted his dad’s music). He wants his room to done in the hardwood flooring that was at the house, so we gave them that too. We sold the appliances and gave them the money as well. Earlier this week I went down to Joey’s house and met with Summer’s family to help remove some of Joey & Summer’s remaining items.
Please remember to pray for all the family members when you make your prayers. Tracy, Summer’s sister, is having a tough time dealing with the stress, as is my dad Patrick and of course my mom Susan. My heart was breaking as I watched Blanche, Summer’s Mom, almost completely in tears as she was moving out some of her daughter’s items on Tuesday. The pressure of it all just becomes additional stress, worry and concern that’s added to normal everyday life, and it’s beginning to take a toll on the family.
Finally, I just want to remind everyone that we are just a normal American family like everyone else here just trying to get by and find our loved ones. This could be your family that’s missing. I don’t wish this situation on my worst enemy. If you know anything, or think you remember anything pertaining to our family’s disappearance, PICK UP THE PHONE or EMAIL the website. We simply do not know what small detail law enforcement needs to crack this case. Everything little bit helps.

As hard as it must be, thank you for sharing this update. I have followed this story since the beginning, and I think I check this website at least four times a week. It is so unreal that a family of four could disappear and six months later it is still a mystery. I really feel so badly for you and both families and I hope there is an answer soon. I will continue to think of you all.

Have you considered calling in a psychic? Sometimes they help authorities crack hard cases.

Our company has been following this story very closely and want you to know that you are in our prayers and thoughts. We purchased a water feature from Joseph last fall and it had just shipped when he disappeared. I know his phone would have been jammed full of messages from me as it was just at that time I could not reach him.
We talk of him often here and cannot imagine what you and the family have been going thru. Keep trusting and praying that someday God will provide an answer as to where they have all disappeared.

Ive been following this case since it happend. up until a few months ago. I used to live in temecula so this hit close to home. and my best friend used to live in fall brook. well i thought that in the few months that passed people would have heard from them. as i just saw literally right now however, thats not the case. This siutation is so out of this world that im seriously interested in doing something. My family has a house in ensenada mx, and the next time i go down there i might actually do some of my own searching. why not right? its a small world.
I was in San Diego when this occurred, but I currently live in Mexico. I was wondering if you had ever tried to contact the Mexican media, such as Televisa or TV Azteca? Everyone in all of Mexico watches the morning news on Televisa. Also there is a very large expat community throughout Mexico who could keep our eyes open…try finding some expat websites, news sites.

I’m so sorry for the situation you & your family are dealing with. I couldn’t imagine having to go thru it. I have followed this story from the very 1st day it hit the news. I watched all the tv shows about the case. I see that your brother was a surfer. I’m wondering if u ever heard of surfers union (I think that’s the name) its a group of surfers who travel the world for the perfect wave. They go from nj to austrialia all over california. They are a very close knit community but would def be able to say if new ppl joined the group. Especially if they have kids. The other thing I don’t like is that Summer had diff names. How do you know she didn’t run in2 some trouble in her life before she met your brother. Just seems very odd that they wld leave w/2 young boys that late in the evening. She cld b part of wpp & they wld let you think otherwise. I saw the video it def didn’t look like your brother crossing the border but I think it was her & the kids. I can tell you all had a very close relationship as I do with my family & can’t see myself ever not contacting them unless I cldnt for some reason. I will not speculate on what happened to the McStays! I only pray that the truth will come out one day as to what happened to them. All we can do as a community is spread the word and pray for them. I can say though that I do believe that they did leave voluntarily..and if this is the case..they have their reasons..maybe one day they will be able to come out hiding and say what really happened. Alot of people are saying that if they would have left voluntarily that they would have taken their money to survive.
Come now..if they are in Mexico they really don’t need that much to live on! A couple of thousands of dollars can last u for months…so instead of believing in foul play, let us pray that they are out harm’s way and still alive….which I deeply believe they are…….
